Gender-based violence (GBV) is any harmful act directed against a person because of their gender. It includes physical, sexual, emotional, and economic harm, as well as threats and coercion.
Common types include domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, forced marriage, denial of resources, and psychological abuse.
